Torre

Don Parafan de Ribera, 1549

Originally known as Torre del Chiatamone, its modern name is owed to the kestrel, a bird of prey from the falcon family that has always nested on its walls. It was erected in the second half of the 16th century by decree of Don Parafan de Ribera and played a crucial role in the defense of Vietri and the entire inland area.

Guarding

Its main function was to defend the coast, particularly exposed to raids by Barbary corsairs, by spotting and signaling the approach of enemy ships to nearby towers. Its management remained under the University of Cava de’ Tirreni until 1866, when, following a decree by King Vittorio Emanuele II, it was auctioned off to meet the financial needs of the Savoy kingdom.

New Life

Owned by the same family since the early 1900s, it is now a residence of great charm, with an enchanting park behind it and, at its feet, a private beach, ideal spaces for exclusive ceremonies and private parties. Torre Crestarella is a unique setting where historical charm elegantly blends with the surrounding nature and modern hospitality needs, creating a timeless atmosphere for unforgettable moments.
